PHOENIX, ARIZONA: A PHOTOGRAPHIC PORTRAIT
Welcome to Phoenix, Arizona where the sun shines more than 300 days a year and rainfall is at a minimum. Founded in 1868 by Jack Swilling and incorporated in 1881, Phoenix has grown exponentially from a small, desert farming community in the Salt River Valley into a burgeoning metropolis covering over 500 square miles. A mélange of old and new where glass and steel structures share city blocks with 19th-century homes and the futuristic looking light rail train passes through historic neighborhoods, Phoenix is unlike any other Arizona city.
